TEXAS NETHERLAND DWARFS
" Quality Always Before Quantity "
TND "THE BEAST"
Breeding season is my favorite time of the year. I no longer have a climate controlled environment, so we only breed about 8 months of the year. At about ten days from delivery you will see these little teddy bear specimens jumping in and out of the nest box. At this point they all look like potential grand champions. Development will depend on what lines you are working with. Some lines develop slower, whereas others may mature a little faster. I would suggest keeping notes about each litter that you can reference for future breedings. At birth pay close attention to the size of the pads of the kits back feet. The offspring with the short, and stubby feet will potentially end up being your better show prospects. While developing you may notice their heads become some what narrow or their ears will not balance with their head. Be very patient until you are fully aware of what your animals will produce.
